I normally don't write reviews like this, but I am extremely frustrated and at my wits end with this post office. I have tried to express to the post master several times now how many problems I have had and she doesn't want to hear it. She reassures me and shoos me away. Same problems keep happening. In the last twenty years with several post masters I have NEVER had so many problems and I really think there must be some kind of mis-management going on for problems like this to be recurring and so rampant as well as the attitude of the employees about the constant problems lackadaisical and apathetic. I decided just to pay to get a box somewhere else that doesn't have constant problems and won't mess up every single article of mail that goes through the place.

Then when I had multiple packages, ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION, they put a slip in for one package but not the other(s). When I say I have more than one package to the clerk, they say "No, just this one" THEN MY PACKAGE GETS SENT BACK!!!

I JUST THOUGHT I'D WARN YOU!!! I plan to update this review if things should improve, but I'm not holding my breathe...

When I brought a utility bill and my two forms of ID, which the form to open a new box said was a valid form of proof, she said this was not acceptable proof. Finally with a SS card, Driver's license and voter registration, I was able to open a new box but she was hesitant and had to go in the back and "make a phone call". She said I would get a bigger box than I had before- but it was smaller! That was just the beginning of the problems.

This continues even though I brought this to their attention several times~ I don't think they care at all and perhaps even get off on the power to wreak havoc on one's personal affairs!

I have lived in Crestone for 20 years... New postmaster put annual renewal form in my po box. I submitted the forms in an envelope addressed to postmaster long before the deadline. Wouldn't you know it, with no warning a month later the box is locked out- when I inquire I am told the box was given to somebody else, and they couldn't find it at first, but they had filed my paperwork I submitted under "closed boxes". Why I'll never know... I was told to open a new box I would need two forms of ID and proof of address despite having submitted those forms on time and living here for 20 years, It's not like I just wandered into town that day and asked for a box!

Packages: Several times now, I have placed an order online and although checking the box each day for a slip to go to the register, didn't receive one and the packages got sent back. I verify I am ordering to the NEW box and it keeps happening. One time I did get a package, I saw dates several days previously crossed off, apparently they wait so long and send it back. Well I did not receive a slip any time until that day- the package had two dates scribbled on the outside and crossed off with the third one being the day I received notice because they send it back when that one gets crossed off (again checking every day AFTER noon when mail is supposed to be sorted). This can only lead me to assume they are unintentionally not notifying as they are supposed to, that I have a package to pickup. I have even gone and ASKED, when the online tracking shows it arrived at this post office and had them tell me NO they DIDN'T HAVE ANY PACKAGES FOR ME, and that I would GET A SLIP IN MY BOX WHEN THEY DID!!! Well isn't this a fun little loop de loop?

Since then I received mail for the previous user of the new PO box, and mail from the box numbers to the left and right of mine. Don't even get me started with my old box number. Before I had time to update EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN OVER THE LAST 20 YEARS that went to my OLD BOX NUMBER to my new one, THEY STARTED SENDING EVERYTHING BACK AS "UNDELIVERABLE". Great, so my license renewal goes back to the DMV, I can't update my address online and have to go in person to sort that out. Then my car registration. Then birthday greeting cards from distant family, Etc, Etc, Ad Nauseum, Ad Infinitum!
